
Claudia Casper is the author of the bestsellers, The Reconstruction, and The Continuation of Love by Other Means, which was short-listed for the Ethel Wilson BC Book Prize (both published by Penguin), and The Mercy Journals, which won the Phillip K. Dick Award (published by Arsenal).
Her writing has appeared in the Globe and Mail, the Vancouver Sun, LitHub, Geist Magazine, subTerrain, Capilano Review, Event, Best Canadian Short Stories (Oberon) and the anthology, Dropped Threads: What We Aren’t Told (Vintage), edited by Carol Shields and Marjorie Anderson, and Resonance: Essays on the Craft and Life of Writing (published by Anvil Press). She is co-writing a screenplay adaption of The Reconstruction for a France-Canada co-production. Her work has been published in Canada, the US, the UK, and Germany.
She teaches at Simon Fraser University’s Writer’s Studio, has been writer-in-residence at Whistler and the Iceland Writer’s Retreat, and is a regular moderator at the Vancouver Writer’s Festival and Nature Through Her Eyes in Perpignan, France. Watch her TedX Talk here.
Casper was born in Toronto and received a BA from the University of Toronto. She lives in Vancouver.
